Répondre aux besoins d'information des fermiers dans les
pays en développement
Fermiers, agriculteurs, gestionnaires agricoles,
politiciens, firmes commerciales et ONG doivent se tenir au courant des avancées
dans les méthodes agricoles aussi bien dans les pays en développement que dans
les pays développés. Des changements importants interviennent dans la façon dont
l'information atteint les fermiers notamment la diversité des canaux par lesquels
ils reçoivent cette information. Avec l'arrivée d'Internet et de services d'information
basés sur le Web les frontières entre les utilisateurs disparaissent. En même
temps, le trou entre ceux qui ont et ceux qui n'ont pas s'accroit. C'est d'autant
plus vrai avec la liberalisation du commerce et la globalisation des activités
économiques. Il est donc souhaitable d'avoir, sous le chapeau de l'IFLA, un lieu
de discussion des problèmes de l'information agricole.
